Am seeking a mental health professional to provide a brief white paper or research summary based on current peer-reviewed studies, clinical and medical research, etc. To address the role of the "high-functioning depressive". The goal of the project is to find, cite and provide support to the hypothesis that "high-functioning depressives" successfully compartmentalize their professional lives and enjoy highly-successful careers while masking and hiding their severe depression and anxiety.

Objective 1:  Dispute the following statement through medical research and mental health professional resources and experience:
"A highly successful and accomplished individual diagnosed with severe depression and anxiety cannot compartmentalize their actions and behaviors in a career/job setting from their personal and relationships".

Objective 2: Provide brief statement with research to support the following statement:
"Suicidal throughts are not uncommon with those experiencing severe depression.  According to the World Health Organization (WHO), about 1 in 15 adults experiences suicidal ideation (thoughts of suicide) at some point in their lives and that approximately 30-40% of individuals diagnosed with major depressive disorder experience suicidal thoughts at some time during their illness. These thoughts are manifestations and symptoms of severe depression and those experiencing them should not be criminalized or punished for having them."

The goal is to provide support that these patients can, and very often do, remain highly functional and successful at work while experiencing significant suffering and depression/anxiety in their personal lives and relationships.

Ideal candidate will have mental health background and experience in either a clinical and research setting.

Study references such as The Harkness study (Harkness & Monroe, 2016) should be included.
