Use and Api on a App

Ok, I will describe shortly the idea of the project.

My idea is based on create a website (very simple design) in which the end user has the option and possibility to upload data from an App (iOS).

But what kind of data do I want to upload? Data from a picture (a receipt) that should be taken from the phone.
Specifically I want from a receipt the following information:

1) Total amount
2) Date of the receipt

This data needs to be upload in the website depending on the date.

For example, If my receipt is from today and I spent 20 dollars I want to see that amount (20 dollars in a box with today's date)
Also I can have a receipt from a past date, for example last week. I want to take a picture from the app and upload the total amount in the corresponding box.

We can use the *text detection* API from Algorithmia:
