What is the project about
Food truck management system
The client is a franchise of food trucks and wants to streamline its inventory management for each franchisee so it can proactively deliver supplies to each food truck and closely track revenue and cost of goods sold.
This is a part of a larger project that will also integrate food delivery platforms such as UberEats, and will also integrate an e-commerce function and an Amazon store.
How does it work
The user (Food truck operator) selects the options for their order via the in-app menu and checks out. They have to enter their address and payment information during checkout. They must have a valid account with the food truck information (e.g.
Location, operator name, email, phone number, bank account or credit card details). After they pay with either PayPal, Stripe or credit card. Their bill is delivered in email.
The order is also received at the POS of the food truck. Once that happens, the status of the order changes to “On The Way”, when it is about to be delivered it alerts the user with an email and text message with a link that needs to be clicked and confirmed, if the operator doesn’t confirm within 2 hours, then s/he gets an automated call.. After the order has been delivered, the driver changes the status to “delivered”.
The client (franchise owner) takes a % cut of revenue, so the POS data should correlate with the inventory management system.
The app should deliver analytics to the manufacturing plant about orders by meal-type and it will correlate this data with local weather data and seasonal festivities. This data should be added to client demographic data from the user database.
Target Audience
There is a manufacturing facility that receives orders from multiple food trucks and prepares the meals. These food truck operators are men and women 16 to 55 years old. They are either pursuing a degree or don’t have studies beyond a high school diploma.
They are avid Android users
Brief Business Model
The client is adopting a pay first system in the app so users must pay with a credit card prior to completing their order. Credit cards are also stored. The mobile app must support PayPal, Stripe, and other payment options.
