About this project

Open

We are seeking a Community & Content Manager to join to one of our clients in the US! The company had created the first open source dependency lifecycle management platform to help OSS consumers select, secure and maintain dependencies effectively.

What you'll do:
Community Engagement:

Recruit and Engage: Develop and implement strategies to increase membership and active participation in the LeanAppSec Slack community. Identify and attract new community members through targeted outreach and strategic partnerships. Review and approve member applications, moderate discussions, serve as the first point of contact for community management issues. Promote the community via organic and paid distribution channels such as podcasts, newsletters, and other AppSec communities (such as OWASP and more).
Contribute to Content: Curate engaging content that resonates with our community, including articles, reports, discussion threads, Q&A sessions, live virtual events, and more. Recruit and manage external content contributors (e.g. Webinar guests, guest bloggers) for LeanAppSec. Identify AppSec influencers, establish mutually beneficial relationships with them, and leverage them for general promotional programs based on a set budget. Contribute to our internal speakers bureau by working with our head of events to identify CFP submission opportunities, ideate talk tracks based on community feedback, and assist in managing submissions.

Social Media Management:

Own Social Strategy: Manage the social media calendars for Endor Labs and LeanAppSec, with a focus on distributing content in multiple formats.
Identify Trends: Monitor trending topics in application security across Twitter, Mastodon, Reddit, LinkedIn, review sites, and security blogs for the purpose of content curation, member acquisition, and internal market intelligence.

Program Management:

Assess Programs: Utilize metrics to assess community engagement and content performance, adapting strategies as needed to enhance member interaction and satisfaction. Provide regular reports on community and social growth, engagement levels, and member feedback to senior management.
Manage Projects: Partner with the Product Marketing team to project manage the creation of LeanAppSec Academy courses and Live events, and with the Demand Generation team to promote Academy courses and Live events.

Requirements:

Direct experience with community management and/or social media in B2B tech
Content creation capabilities across multiple formats. Can you do some basic video editing? Comfy adjusting pre-designed Figma templates? You’ll do great!
Strong project management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred:
Cybersecurity or developer tool experience preferred. Candidates with experience engaging communities like OWASP or Open Source Security Foundation will be prioritized.
Able to craft memes with deep-cut Star Wars references? A passion for a galaxy far-far away is not a requirement, but it sure could help!
