Archivo Html como homepage de Wordpress

Tengo un sitio web hecho en html. He subido el sitio con todos los archivos (imagenes etc)en una carpeta por FTP a mi servidor. He creado luego en mi tema de wordpress un arhivo php con el codigo del index html. Este archivo php lo selecciono en wordpress como plantilla de una pagina, y esta pagina la pongo como mi homepage. Hasta aqui todo bien.  Entro a mi dominio y se me abre la pagina html como homepage pero no me carga las imagenes y el sitio web esta desordenado. Necesito solucionar esto.
