Project overview
Drawing from contemporary 2024 literature on leadership and management, critically examine the following: 1. How do recent academic and industry perspectives distinguish between leadership and management in today’s organizational contexts? 2. In what ways does complexity theory challenge or support these distinctions? 3. Evaluate the effectiveness of traditional leadership and management models when applied to complex, adaptive systems. 4. How should leaders and managers adapt their approaches in light of the dynamic and unpredictable challenges of the 21st century? Instructions: - Conduct a thorough review of both classical and contemporary literature (post-2020) that discusses leadership and management, particularly in the context of complexity. - Use real-world case studies or examples to illustrate your points. - Your critical analysis should consider not only the theoretical aspects but also practical implications for leaders and managers in organizations facing complex and adaptive challenges. - Provide recommendations for how organizations can evolve their leadership and management practices to thrive in environments of complexity and uncertainty. Assessment Criteria: - Depth of critical engagement with contemporary literature on leadership and management. - Understanding of complexity theory and its relevance to organizational leadership. - Quality of analysis and argumentation
