Dear programmer,

I'm looking for a person who can help me out with writing a small interface program between PLC's and a 3th party application.

The interface will exchange data between devices with snmp, rest and siemens s7 protocol. XML Configuration files will be used to define the connection to the devices, data to exchange, and others. This configuration must be made in an easy-to-use way so that non-technical staff can update and adapt the interface later.

The main goal of this project is to expand, optimize and correct an existing program written in Visual Basic.
You can translate the application from Visual Basic to other languages like C or C# if you feel so.

Will be given to you:
1) source code of the original program
2) standard libraries
3) documentation of the REST connections (data fields, etc...)

Project overview

I am active as an independent contractor providing software solutions to be used in airfield lighting control systems and the field of industrial automation. The requested interface will be used to exchange data between UPS'es, switches, etc.. And the workstations used by airport maintenance teams to check the overall and detailed system health. Further possibilities for cooperation can arise after completion of this interface.
