Restaurant and bar needs logo design

The business is owned under a partnership of an Indonesian (half chinese) and Scottish. The underlying idea is to create a place showing a balanced mix of western and chinese culture. The food menu is mainly chinese food with some scotland/english food items, and the drinks are mixed between chinese traditional liquor (called baijiu) and scotland/england whisky.

We wish to name the restaurant as 鸡同鸭讲 (read: jī tóng yā jiǎng).
鸡同鸭讲 Jī tóng yā jiǎng means a chicken cannot make itself understood by a duck. This was typically the family reaction expecting the cultural mixed wont work due to language barrier.
Sometimes it is also used in a phrase expressing no one can understand you as others seems to be part of different group/having different approach.
Red/gold would help to show the chinese character of the restaurant, but we wish to see the western side of it within the design.
