Program to insert photos into a Word doc

Greetings! I am in search of a program to insert photos into a Word document.

I receive 500-5000 photos per project and need a way to quickly insert the photos into a client designed Word document. It must be the exact document.



Current Workflow:

I take the provide photos and distill them into meaningful groups for the client. I normally do this by making folder groups.



Inside each folder will contain all the photos that below to that section. Lets say Max of 100 photos per section if that matters. The photos inside the folder are named what ever the photographer named them but they all have a 3 or 4 digit number on the end.



At this point I would manually insert all the photos into the document. With in the Word document there is a table made by the client. The photograph is manually inserted, and the photo number is added below along with the section (Folder name) below it. The provided photos are not in the client format, so I do update that within the Word document.



What I am looking for is a way to automate the inserting of the photos, and the section and text below the photos. I would also like to be able to select the document the photos will be inserted into as there are slight differences between clients/teams that I work for. I can create a blank document if that helps the automation process.  I am willing to modify my workflow to accommodate the automation.
